Bio:
I’m an independent photographer and filmmaker living in Seattle, Washington. I have a thoughtful approach to storytelling with an interest in ethics, equity, and justice. Much of my theoretical framework comes from my Cultural Studies graduate degree, my Comparative History of Ideas undergraduate degree, and my world travel. I have been a professional visual storyteller for more than 15 years. I have experience in more than 50 countries and am fluent in Spanish. I’ve completed more than 100 assignments for Reuters, more than 100 for Getty Images, more than 100 for Bloomberg, and more than 35 for The New York Times. I contribute to many other outlets, too.
I have experience with wildfires, war, disaster zones, hurricane coverage, and more. I have completed two hostile environment trainings that include combat first aid (once with Columbia University and once with Reuters). I have also completed the RT-130 wildland fire training course sponsored by Reuters. I am a licensed drone pilot as well.
When not working, I enjoy playing and watching soccer, traveling, and spending time in the outdoors.
