I recently shot an assignment for The New York Times about an interesting Washington state Supreme Court Case, which was published in today’s Sunday edition of the Times.

My work, photojournalism, Published work, SeattleThere was a huge car fire in West Seattle this week that I happened to capture before the fire department arrived. It was quite the surreal scene. Nobody was injured and there was no foul play suspected. You can see the pictures published in the Seattle P-I and the West Seattle Blog, which has more information.

Many thanks to director Ruth Gregory, producer Luke Ware, producer/DP Daniel Berman, and everyone else on the long list of credits. It was a great team to be a part of. Our film will premiere at the Hot Docs film festival in Toronto on April 30. Hope to see you there. We can’t share the film with you until after the premiere, but stay tuned!

My work, photojournalism, Published work, Still photographyThis weekend I covered a pro-gun rally at the state capitol in Olympia, Washington for Getty Images. The “Guns Across America” movement included rallies in capitals all over the nation on Saturday, January 19, 2013. I was glad to be covering something like this while the gun issue is such a hot button issue nationally. Over 1,000 people showed up to demonstrate and listen to speakers on the lawn in front of the capitol building. See more pictures here on the Getty site.

I was shooting on assignment for Getty Images and the pictures were published widely across the U.S. and internationally. See below for an image of mine in The New York Times of Jane Lighty and Pete-e Petersen, and read more here. Lighty and Petersen received the first same-sex marriage license in Washington state.
